Sandra van Lill is a New Zealand Registered Dietitian and an Australian Accredited Practicing Dietitian, with advanced degrees in nutrition, dietetics and health informatics.
Sandra is recognised leader in the aged care nutrition, with over 17 years’ experience in New Zealand, across the continuum of care from acute hospital, rehabilitation, community and residential aged care settings.
She has been invited to present at both national and international level. She is adept at adapting the message to a wide range from audiences – including lay people, support staff, health care professionals and academia.
Working as a Senior Dietitian at a large DHB in Auckland she was instrumental in developing and successfully implementing an innovative nutrition screening tool to identify nutrition risk in older people.
In 2015 Sandra was the Project Leader for the review of the Dietitians New Zealand Menu Audit tool which is widely recognised in New Zealand as the industry standard for evaluating residential aged care menus.
Sandra is passionate about improving the nutritional well-being of aged care residents and believes that their meals should not only be nutritious but also delicious.
